Somos InControl on an Android phone: a room page in dark mode with the speaker name, the volume slider with minus and plus buttons, the Favorites, Playlists and Queue row, and the music player with play, skip, shuffle and repeat. Test room and example track.

What it does today

Everything here is in Android 0.9, the build our testers have now. The Android tab of the manual covers each one.

VolumeA big volume slider with − and +, mute, and group volume.
Sound presetsThree presets per room. Tap one to load it, hold to save or rename.
EQ and TrueplayBass, treble, loudness, Trueplay, balance, subwoofer, surround and height, wherever the speaker has them.
Home theaterTV or Music source, the audio-format badge, Night Sound, Speech Boost, the room diagram, and assigning surrounds, fronts and the Sub.
MusicFavorites, Playlists, Queue and your music services, played straight to the room.
Rooms and groupsRoom tabs on the bottom bar, grouping from any page, and saved groups.
Sleep Timer and AlarmsA sleep timer of 15 to 90 minutes per room, and alarms with the time, room and days.
Lock Screen cardA notification card on the Lock Screen and in the shade with the room's controls and its three presets.
Home Screen widgetsThree of them: Presets, Mute, and Rooms & Volume.

No Somos account and no sign-in. Somos talks to your speakers over your home Wi-Fi, and it does not ask for Location or Bluetooth.

Good to know

Switching to another playlist while the queue is still filling can leave one already-sent command behind. Wait for loading to finish first.
Under heavy load, a volume change can arrive late.

Join the Google groupOpen the Somos Android testers group and join it with the same Google account the Play Store on your phone uses.
Become a testerOpen the Google Play test page and tap Become a tester. Give it a few minutes before you install from Play.
Install and openInstall Somos InControl from Google Play and open it. Connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi as your speakers. On Android 17 or later, allow Nearby devices when asked: it is how the app finds your Sonos® speakers.
